Canyon Rim Classic Tournament 2013

This weekend every year for the past 4 years we have been in Twin Falls for a soccer tournament for Carson. We have had great fun and enjoyed being together as a family. This year was a bit different because Juan and I both had to work until about 11pm on Friday. We usually leave Friday but this year we had to leave Saturday morning at 5am. A bit rough but we made it.

The team has started a new tradition of praying before each game. Sam Francisco leads the prayer and he is called Father Francisco, somewhat similar to Pope Francisco. They have done quite well but on this particular day they were a bit greedy. Carson said the prayer went as follows; Dear Heavenly Father please help us to win this game and beat the crap out of the Renegades. We did not win. I told Carson you need to be more humble with a prayer and ask to play your best. Sam is not that religious although he does go to a private catholic school here in Pocatello. We just need to remind them that God is a humble person and we can pray for help but not to beat the "crap" out of anyone.

Carson calling a friend off to sub.
Getting ready to block a corner kick. Carson is short so he is always aloud to be right in front of the goalie to help protect the corner of the goal. Go PVSC. We had a rough final day but as a family we had fun.

Baseball, Carlos Reflection awards, and Carson Soccer Tournaments

Carlos the Baseball player

Carlos playing center field during one of his games. He is loving it now that his dad and two other dads are coaching them. They are having fun.
Carlos at bat. This is the toughest thing to do in baseball, actually hit the ball. Carlos has been walked a lot and is trying to figure out how to connect. It will come.
Carlos running the bases. He is really good at this. Someone commented that its in his genes and I believe it is but yet staying active has also kept him healthy and in shape.

 Carlos Reflection Award:

Carlos receiving another award for his Reflections film production. I'm still having issues on how to upload this. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Carlos and his awards and medal. Now we just wait and see how he does on the National level.

 Carson Soccer Tournaments:

Carson is full blown into soccer. He is loving it and we are gone every weekend somewhere for this sport. It does get old just traveling and never being home to just relax but what better way to spend my day than watching my children have fun. At the Performance cup in Boise, our team came in 2nd place. They worked really hard and had great competition.
Carson kicking the ball and helping assist in a score. Carson is really good at assisting. He has however scored this year. He said he was cursed to hit the crossbar but a few have finally went in this year. Yeah for that and for Carson's ego.

Carson chilling and trying to get rid of the sweat. They like to play when the weather is 40 and not much warmer. Any warmer and they get hot and seem to be even more tired.
Carson booting the ball with great form and getting it down field to help continue their winning streak.
Carson throwing a ball in. We have some great pictures of this but I want you to know that Carson is now taller than his mother and so excited. He's been on one growing streak too.
The team and their flying on the field. We sat up high so we could watch another game and we had the best seats in the house.
Getting ready for the Championship game. Carson was fast to see that we were not on the sidelines but on the hill so we could watch another game besides his. Thanks for waving at us Carson.
The goalie's shoe came untied and of course everyone protects the goalie and takes great care of him as you can see.
Look very close and see if you can spot the foul. They called the foul on Carson but he was the one being fouled. They can't see everything and we all need to remember that the referees are people too and are doing all teams a favor by being willing to ref the games. Thank you Referees!
The Champions of the Idaho Falls Shootout. In memory of Ricardo Portillo who loved the game of soccer and passed away this weekend due to a 17 year old boys anger. The 17 year old was upset he received a yellow card and punch Ricardo so hard that he later died.
