Summer Fun and the 4th of July

The truck at the parade. It is like this all year round but is especially neat around the fourth.

Carlos being silly. It was pouring rain on the fourth in the center of town. It didn't quite pour in Chubbuck but it did rain a bit. Quite windy though.

A bit blurry but a cute picture of the two.

The boys and Michaela have wanted to sleep out side all summer long. We finally said yes and now we can't get them to move back into the house. They sleep in a tent or the camper every night. Its become a ritual to see where and when they will go to bed. I guess that is what summer is for, Late nights, and crazy behavior.

A cool picture. If you look close you will see Carson getting out of his body. The camera has a delay mode and I just discovered this cool setting. Carson's out of body experience.

Carson and Carlos both with that delayed camera mode. It was dark and the camera was having a hard time focusing and finally focused but with delayed pictures.

Ready......... set........ Who will get wet first. Of course they will go as a team. and it is even funner with a double, triple slip and slide.

Carlos and Sean trying to set up a slip and slid my mom found when cleaning her basement. It was worn out but the sprinkler was a keeper. A fun hotdog bun sprinkler.

Michaela and Carlos getting wet. Carlos has the hose and is helping save someone?

Who will win this water fight and who will stay on the same team?

A great weter fight on one warm day. All the kids are ganging up to help drenched Jon.

Bear Lake Tournament

Michaela scoring and excited about it to. Michaela is one person who is hard to pitch to because she has such a small strike range. She doesn't like to walk so she tries hard to hit the ball. She has suceeded and has some strikeouts like all of us. How else can we learn if we don't fail at trying sometimes.

What boys do when they are tired of watching their sister play ssoftball. I guess its not fast enough or they are truely just being boys.

They were black and dirrrrrty. But they had fun and were ready to eat and sleep after a full day in the sun and heat.

Michaela playing second base. She works really hard to plese her coaches and will play whereever they need her to be, except pitcher.

The boys eating seeds and watching Michaela play.

Michaela can bat right handed and left handed. She is quite the lefty, although she doesn't bat left often.

Michaela's at bats are improving. She says she isn't nervous but yet she seems it to us. She is improving and getting those so important bats when needed Shes having fun. and when not needed.

In a team huddle before they all return to their positions and fight to win a game. Bear Lake was a little more competetive but the girls had a great time. THey won a few and lost a few. They are all ready to win a tournament all the way. Go Blackrock Curse!!

Gardening with Carlos

Carlos planing more items. I ran to get the camera so we can continue to document them helping and have some pictures for their journals over the summer I am having each kid do to keep up their writing skills and computer skills. Their brains only have to work for about an hour a day but the jobs are important to me. Read, write, math, a cleaning area, pray, scripture read, and any extra they feel inclined to do. Summer is so worth the fun and effert.

Carlos was the only kid who wanted to help me plant the garden. He helped me plant everything plus some. We planted lettuce, beans, cilantro, pumkin, watermelon, tomatoe, zuccini, and much more. It was about one of the first real good days we had and not freezing cold.

1st Blackrock Softball Tournament and Father Sons Campout

Michaela at rightfield. In tournament games girls hit to right thinking the girl will not catch the ball. Needless to say Michaela caught all balls sent her way. The opponents s=hifted to left to see if the girl would catch as good as Michaela.

The team cheering on their teammate and having fun at their first tournament.

Michaela had some great hits. They were not all caught but she did have those hits you wish they would miss.

The boys playing and just being boys.

Carlos and Carson playing at the playground while Michaela is playing her game. They got tired of watching. Michaela played 4 games this day and had 3 more on Saturday.

Carson getting a foul ball and watching and playing at the park.
Michaela getting a ball that the pitcher misssed.

Michaela on second getting ready to firls the ball. She is having a great time and enjoys all the new girls she is meeting.

Shayla the traveling teams pitcher. She is also our pitcher for our city team. She is great and a great leader. Notice Michaela on second. She loves this team and the coaching team.

Grandpa and Carson getting a picture to help please the mom and see all the great times they had this summer. Thanks grandpa for taking the boys and letting them enjoy this great time with you and all the great men/boys in your stake.

Carlos and Carson infront of their tent. This was a picture of them when they were getting ready to take down the tent. Carlos remembered to take pictures. He is great at that.

Carlos fighting and trying out his sword that he to receive at the father/sons. He had a blast and did have some kids he knew and played with. A great idea for Dads, grandpas, and the boys to all get together and have some great fun. Well worth the trip for my two young men.

Carson fighting with his long sword that he received at the camp trip. This was a great time for the boys and they loved being with their grandpa and having some special time just with the boys.

Just some of the treats grandpa bought the boys before and after going to the fathers/sons outing.

Old Town Revive @ 5 helpers

For a fundraiser for Michaela's traveling Fastpitch softball team, Lisa signed the team up to set up for Revive at 5. It is not hard just requires you to have muscles and get scraped here and there. I recruited some help from the neighborhood and told them a treat would be at the end.

Jon helping me move the picnic tables and they are heavy. Not just 10 pounds but more like 100 pounds of solid wood. We would go about 5 feet and take a brake and then go 5 more feet until we had it in the exact right spot according to Steph the director

The canapy we didn't have to put up do to high wind warnings. Yah!

Michaela with some of the ladys from her softball team. Notice there are 4 girls lifting this table. They really are that heavy.

The sight of Revive at 5. Its a nice little area in the middle of town.

Ben and Carlos having some fun during the time we bigger kids were moveing the heavy stuff.

Kiwanis club reception

Carson with some of the winners from the Lions Club essay contest.

Carson wrote a great Lions club essay and we are at the reception for all the winners in the city. Not to many showed up but those who did enjoyed a ton of cookies, litterally they told the kids and parents to take as many as they wanted so they had no leftovers. Who doesnt like leftovers?

Softball season is on the RUN!

This is Alyssa. Probably Juans favorite player on the team. She is a quiet young lady but full of spirit and a great attitude. She makes Juan enjoy coaching 12 teenage girls. Of course he loves Michaela but coaching your daughter comes with its perks.

Micahela getting ready to take a swing at that all so important yellow ball.

A cool picture of Lexi jumping so the ball would not hit her. If the ball hits you, you advanced to 1st and don't get a chance to hit. Lexi is a great batter and loves to hit the ball.

Michaela and Lexi coming in after 3 outs. The team has done quite well and we are ranked 3 in the city.

Thanks to all our Fans who support the girls and cheer us on. We love you and you help make our games successful.

One of our Umpires and Juan watching a girl run to second and hoping she will be safe.

Carson Soccer team Regional Qualifying

Carson being hot on his toes and sporting his new cleat that we recived for free at the Idaho Falls Tournaments for playing. Yah!

Carson and Jon watching the ball and getting ready to take it.

Carson using his PUSHING skills. He did get called for a few foals and the team is like Carson he is the smallest on the team yet they would hate to meet him in a alley. I thought it was funny and he is a true fighter and go getter.

Carlos with Zacks little brother. I can't remember his name but he is a twin and cute and silly.

Juan and I enjoying one of the few sunny days we had watching soccer this spring. Finally the sun was bright and hot!

Carson is Number 29 and worked very hard at these games. He loves soccer and soccer loves him.

Carson and Jorge blocking on of several goals. Some of the teams were quite good and a challenge for the team.

Pocatello United getting their picture taken for participating in Boise Regional qualifier games. It was tough and the boys had a tough time scoring but had a great learning experience. This team will be missing a few players in the Fall due to moving out of city but have had a great 4 years as a team.
