Bastkeball season, Carlos 11th Birthday, and Scouts

Basketball season has begun and Carlos is having fun.
He is learning a lot and trying to figure out how the game works.
This is his first year playing and he is doing well. This is the second year he
hasn't played any soccer and we will see how everything turns out.
He will start baseball almost after basketball ends. He truly just loves playing with his friends but most of his friends are in a sport so he plays too to be with them.

 Carlos guarding his opponent.
 Carlos making a shot.
 Dad giving him some pointers.
Carlos calling the play. He is point guard and has many responsibilities to do well. A lot of pressure for an eleven year old.
Carlos making a free throw shot.

THE BIG DAY FOR CARLOS.....11th BIRTHDAY PARTY AT RANDY"S GYM!!!
Carlos an all his friends at the gym.
Carlos and his buddies watching him open his gifts. He had a great day.
Carlos eating his cake. He wanted Key Lime pie. I know a bit unusual for a birthday cake but it is Carlos's day. His friends didn't seem to mind too much.
Let's see who we can pull into the pit.
Carson playing with his friends who happened to be at the gym also. They all got together to play a game of very tough dodge ball. I think the Big Boys won?

MINK CREEK 5th GRADE SKI TRIP AND MY FIRST PERSONAL DAY OFF WORK EVER!!!

Carlos getting ready to go ski.
The yurt where we met to get all equipped up.
The kids learning the how's to skiing.
Giving it a little try here and there.
Carlos coming down a slight hill.
Carlos and his friends going up a hill. The snow was pretty packed and icy. The kids did a great job and kept trying even with all their falls and bumps.
The whole group misusing a few who were in the yurt.

LAST PINEWOOD DERBY FOR CARLOS!
Carlos receiving an award for his pinewood derby.
Carlos awards and he was all smiles.
Carlos had the Best built car.
Carlos watching his car win 1st.
Carlos and his car. The car was a reuse. It was Carson's car when he was in scouts. Carlos just wanted to have fun and just be at scouts. No worry if he lost because it was just for fun. He is a  much different child than Carson. , not as competitive. It was a nice relaxing pinewood derby.
