Mothers Day/Shoshone Falls

Mother's Day this year was spent in Twin Falls at one of Carson's soccer tournaments. I love to camp and travel and I was excited to watch and support Carson's team. I received my Mother's day gift early so we (Juan and Michaela) could use it during the tournament. It was a camera and an very nice digital camera. It is great for sports and can take several consecutive pictures. It's great and I was surprised.

Juan playing with my gift already.

Pictures of Shoshone Falls. We went here after Debi lived within minutes, we finally made it here as a family. The falls are gorgeous and amazing.

Another picture of the falls.

A cool hole in the rock and the Falls in the background. Michaela took many of these pictures as well as Juan. I didn't touch the camera all weekend besides opening it.

The kids posing for a group shot on a cool stump at Shoshone Falls.

Of course we drove by the Temple and took a pictures of it too. A great way to kill time, being tourists.

Juan told the kids this was Shoshone Falls and they laughed but of course it wasn't.

All of us at the Falls and ready to go to our next soccer game. Carson's team won 1st place at the tournament and a great mother's day weekend.

End of Year Award Assemblies

This year both Carson and Carlos received big awards at their awards assemblies. We were asked by Carson's 6th grade teacher to have both Juan and I at the awards assembly but if this ever happens again we will divide and conquer so we can at least say one of us was there for our child. We feel awful about missing Carlos's and know he has worked just as hard as Carson this year in school. Thanks to my mom we have photos of Carlos receiving his awards.

Carlos receiving the AR award in 2nd grade. He had the most AR point in his class and read the most words in his class. We are very proud of him and He truly does love reading.

Carlos receiving the Lions Essay contest award. He took 3rd place and has become a great writer. He also won an essay contest for his mother and I receives a gem stone from a jewelry store here in town (valued about $300). WOW!!!!

Carlos posing with his awards for grandma. He was so proud yet sad we , his parents weren't able to share in this celebration.

Carson receiving the Hope of America award in 6th grade. This is the biggest award a 6th grader can receive. Carson wrote and essay, did service, received good grades (straight "A's") and was nominated by his teachers. It was an honor yet he was a little shy.

Carson posing so Juan could take a picture of Carson receiving the award.

Carson holding the Hope Of America award so I could get a close up of him and his award. A great day for both the boys and we will make sure we divide and conquer next time. Love you both!!!

Soccer Tournaments Galore!!!!

Carson loves soccer and we all have the opportunity to dedicate our lives to soccer as well. Each weekend, almost, we are traveling here or there for a tournament or game. Carson's soccer team did very well and took 1st in two tournaments and 3rd in another. They are very skilled boys and have played together for some time. It's fun to watch them grow and become a better team. Here are a few pictures of Carson in the tournaments and some great moments.

Carson at the Idaho Falls Tournament. They took 1st at this tournament and worked well as a team.

It was always cold during the season. We were blessed with rain and rain and snow. Yah, snow. They play in any type of weather.

A great throw in from Carson. Check out his face and body. pretty cool pictures.

Carson on the run. His hair was long here and you can see how windy it was too.

Carson and Sammy holding hands. Don't ask me what they were doing. But boys are boys.

Carson kicking a corner kick. He is quite the assistor. He loves corner kicks and is trying to make a goal at the same time but an assist is just as great.

The team running across the field after they won the championship game in Idaho Falls.

Of course what would the championship be without a team photo op.

RAIN. This game was awful to watch and play in. The boys were soaked. It look like they just jumped out of the shower and didn't even dry off. The storms only got worse. But that is soccer for you.

Carson warming up before he goes in. Can you see the rain falling?

Carson and Kyle doing jumping jacks to warm up. They even have great dance moves when warming up.

An awesome picture of Carson's expression after scoring a goal. Notice all the blue and not one other orange teammate around Carson. This was an awesome game. Carson always has a goal for each game, to score and take someone out (just because they are all a head or two taller than him. Helps him to be more aggressive).

Just waiting for a throw in. Getting set and taking a breather. There are no time outs or breaks in soccer. Just a 5 minute half time.

Brandon and Carson switching spots. Pretty cool picture of the two.

Carson aiming to shoot for the goal. I can't remember if he scored but he did assist in two goals or so this tournament.

The Champions of the Twin Falls tournament. We did well and the boys had a great time.

Carson signing the game ball for their coach. Scott is a great coach and has taught the team a great deal. We will miss him as he is moving to Boise to further his career and future.

A nice day in Boise. Michaela warming up with the team. This year Michaela is going to play for the Highland soccer team so she is practicing and conditioning with the boys every once in awhile. She's seeing if she can learn and keep up with Carson and his team.

Boise was a tough tournament. The boys feet were just off and they couldn't get the ball to fall their way. They worked hard and had a few come backs. They are only 12 and pretty great as a team. They lost their first every loss in Boise after 20 or so wins.

Carson working hard to have the ball fall their way. This team was quite fast but Austin and Carson worked hard to have the ball go our way.

Carson kicking the ball and blocking the ball all at the same time.

Everyone on the team wants a picture like this to blow up and put in their kids room. Juan for mother's day bought me a very nice digital camera and Juan was trying to see what it could do. Almost professional. Carson throwing in the ball.

Carson getting the ball and look at all the muscles they use in soccer. No wonder all soccer players are ripped.

Trying to block a ball and notice that some of the boys feet are off the ground. Carson is number 29.

We stayed at Aunt Sues house in Boise for the Boise Tournament. She came to all the games she could and the others she was at Jacob Foleys baseball tournaments. They took 3rd also.

A very difficult game but they won this team. The other team was made up of Boys and girls club kids and 6 African refugees. They did speak with a click. It was pretty cool to listen to. The boys had to be fast here too.

Carson and another one of his famous corner kicks. All the muscles are working here. We are almost done with soccer but move on to Football with Carlos and Softball with Michaela. Carson is trying our for the competitive U13-14 team this next week. Wish him luck.
