Juan Carlos Figueroa Baptism

Carlos turned 8 years old on January 28th and this meant that he was able to go to scouts with his best friend Kaleb. Doesn't he look handsome in his uniform?
Here Carlos is showing me how he is going to salute the flag now. I'm so glad they have the scouting program. It has helped make great young men awesome men.

Carlos on his special day. He was a bit nervous but yet excited all at the same time.

Carlos and his Dad right before the baptism program started.

Carson, Michaela, Juan, Michelle, Grandpa Terry, and Carlos all posing for a together shot with the almost member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Grandma Gail is taking the picture.

Of course, I noticed we didn't have Grandma in the picture above so, why not just have Carlos with his Grandma and Grandpa on this special day that they have helped make possible.

All the kids at Carlos's baptism (except Sean, he was too shy). From left to right, Michaela, Ben, Jon, Carlos, Kaleb, Carson, Devin, Dillon, Thomas, and Tristan. Take a look at this, Michaela is the only girl.

Carlos and Ben posing for a great shot after Carlos was baptized and confirmed a member of the church.

We had two special visitors, Curtis and Sue Hall, who went to the wrong church but come over after Carlos was baptised to give him a very special gift. They have a great story they found in the Friend a long while back about the Holy Ghosts other name, the comforter. Carlos is sporting his new "comforter" which he was confirmed with just hours before. Here is the story for those who would like to use this idea for those special 8 years old on their baptism day. What a sweet thing for the Halls to do. I am so sorry they missed the baptism. I didn't notice the blanket when you showed me that picture yesterday. I have heard of people doing that and I think it is such a good idea. What great and generous friends the Halls are. I loved how they manage the baptisms in your stake. The whole thing was so special and Carlos does look great in his scout outfit. I hope he loves scouting as much as Carson. As he gets older, Carson can help him with some of his scouting stuff. Nothing is more powerful than an older brother who will take the time. I love all your kids and Michaela is the rose amongst all those "thorns". I guess sometimes us ladies can be the thorns amongst all the roses, too, just not as often. Great post. Love, mom

Nice job Carlos! I like him in his scout shirt and gym shorts! It looks like it was a nice baptism. I hate missing these things. Luckily we get pics and it helps a little. Love you Debi
