Carson is 12 years old

April 15 has been a great day for us all. Carson added as a tax right off for us but turned 12 years old too. He received the Priesthood this year and was so excited to be able to pass the sacrament. This year he even missed a tournament game , which was a very difficult decision to make but church trumps sports. He set a great example for us all.

Carson and his buddy Braeden playing a hunting game at Outer Limits.

Carson counting his tickets from all the games he played.

Waiting to open presents and eat pizza. A few friends and neighbors helped us celebrate Carson 12th birthday.

Carson opening his gifts and getting ready to open the BIG gift from grandma, grandpa, and his parents. Can anyone guess what he wanted?

Do you have a guess yet. Grandpa made it a scavenger hunt for the 2nd half of his gift. This was a hint gift, gun case.

Carson opening his rifle he has wanted since he was 5 or so. I didn't think a five year old should have a real gun quite yet. Carson has been through hunters safety and I felt and his dad and grandpa felt he was ready to try out the big guns. Not sure if I like it yet but he loves guns and police stuff just like his grandpa.

Could his smile be any bigger. He was pumped to receive this gift and of course he wanted to go shooting as soon as he received the gift. Grandpa and Dad are going to have to keep their word and take him out shooting a lot.

Of course what would a birthday be without Strawberry shortcake, Carson's favorite. It also almost burnt down the house with all those candles. Wax and cake are okay covered in ice cream and strawberries.

Making a wish for one of his other "big gift" ideas. I have no idea what that would be but I'm sure a car or motorcycle where on his mind. He is only 12 and dreams are bigger and bigger each year. We love you Carson and always dream big.

Yes, we need to make sure the men follow through with going shooting. It is just hard to find time when everyone has free time. So many weekends are spent at soccer tournaments. Of course, not many of our weekends since his birthday have been very good for shooting unless they like playing world war 1 or 2 and love shooting in the mud and cold and wet. Doesn't sound like much fun to me. Hopefully soon more time will loosen up and the guys can go shooting and maybe we can do some fishing, too, with that fishing boat of Terrys. Of course, we will need to wait until all the reservoirs are safer and not so full. Weather has sure caused troubles with outdoor activities... at least we haven't been in those tornadoes. Love, Mom
