TOURNAMENTS AND MORE TOURNAMENTS

Michaela sure enjoys this Black rock team. She is debating whether to transfer to Century to play softball or not. She would love to play a sport for a highschool team. we will see what she decides.

They were dirty and black nut had a great time.

The boys had their own fun with old tires at the skate park right behind the fields.

Cheering together as a team. Lets get some BATTS!!!

Michaela running to get a ground ball.

Carson and Carlos enjoying some seeds as we watch Michaela play some softball.

Shayla pitching a great game for us. She is a great pitcher and leader. She helped our team on many games but was on the 16's team.

Bear Lake was suppose to be one of the funnest tournaments. It was fun but I must say that winning or taking a place makes the tournament evern funnier.

Michaela being ready incase taylor the catcher was going to try to get the runner on 2.

I have no idea what they are checking out but maybe this is when her sock was falling down???

Chubbuck Tournament was a great tournamtent. We are playing better together but summer is hard to have a consistant number of girls show up for practice. Can't have a good practice with just 4 girls. I didn't take many pictures of this tournament but it was a fun one.

Running home to score. Michaela had a great record of getting on base whether it be by walks or hitting she was consistant at getting on base a helping the blackrock team break "first blood" at scoring.

Juan helping out at the tournament running the scoreboard that was broken and didn't eve show the right score until he figured out a way for the innings and outs to equal the score. Pretty creative i thought.

I love this picture of Michaela consentrating on catching this ball. She did catch it and was a very great 2nd baseplayer!

Michaela trying to keep from getting hit by a ball. Like the bumn sticking out?

Michaela and Kaitlyn being silly with their fake mustaches. These two were great and kept the team happy.

Idaho Falls Tournament the girls played well but they fell short in placing. They are getting better and better yet need that extra boost to finish the game.

Michaela talking to her coach. Asking some question. I love her hands and Lisa listening.

Michaela running the bases. She is great at this and has quite the speed.

Michaela bunting. She had several awesome bunts but one was so perfect that it just dropped right infront of the plate. Fair and Michaela was safe too.

The Blackrock Curse (Pocatello/Century team)beat the Diamond Queens(composed of mainly Highland girls) a very happy day for them all.

Michaela being ready on the field. She is playing right field where many girls can't hit at this competitve league.

Michaela catching a popfly. Love that form.

Blackrock took 2nd Place at the Sandlot tournament. Way to go girls. The team has come a long way and proved they can do anything.

POCATELLO SHOOTOUT TOURNAMENT

Another at batt for Michaela. She has really improved her batting. She got on almost every at batt. Of course you have those days when you still stike out. Don't we all have thosedays. We need redo days.

Michaela at bat. Do you think this was a ball? I hope so.

Michaela being a kid and running through the sprinklers between games. It was hot and even hotter on the field.

Michaela playing in the field. She had a great time and loved this team.

Michaela receiving her 2nd place medal.

Blackrock Curse took 2nd place at the Pocatello Shootout Tournament. It was a great season.

Carlos Scout Day Camp

These are the boys who were in our group for Carlos's scout day camp. It was a fun day and Carlos and I were together the whole day like old times.

Carlos and his troop buddies making a sign for the day camp.

Playing one of the games of many that helped to pass off some scout stuff all day long.

Carlos hula hooping. He is pretty good at it but said that Loni was the master. He is always thinking and commenting on little positives here and there.

Carlos and his friend Kaleb playing a pull tug game. This game frustrated Carlos but he kept trying and then decided to move on to another not so competitive buddy.

Carlos making a Japanese Hat to help keep him from the sun. The whole camp was Japanese Ninja Adventure Camp. A fun activity.

Making a Chinese star but out of Frisbees. A creative and safe twist on these dangerous stars.
Carlos is waiting for a pattern so he can trace and begin his star.

The fitness part of the day. Carlos was great at this. He did this a lot with his grandma, meditate and stretch. He love this game the best. It was a obstacle course and they first went through the adult version and then the kids got to make their own obstacle course.

Carlos taking aim at the target. This was harder than he thought. He kept trying and did get some to hit the Target. I must say this was all new to him and he was a bit scared at first but before we left he said this was fun and next time I will be even better.

My (Michelle's) 36th Birthday

For my birthday I received some perfume, fire pit, money, a journal, and lots of notes. It was a good day but a quiet one at that because my birthday was on Sunday. My mom and dad had me and the kids over for dinner on Saturday and we had a great visit and played games. It was a great birthday with all the jokes and then some.

Juan and the kids telling me to go away so they can finish decorating my birthday cake. It was a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Juan and I made it together. It had a great surprise on it as you will see in the picture below.

Don't I look happy to turn 36? The kids and Juan couldn't find a 3 but we had a 6 so they improvised making a 40 - 4= 36. Yah! that went over well. But in all fun I will be used to seeing a 40 on a cake and so turning 40 won't be so bad. I can't believe I'm getting that old. It goes by too fast. I was just 21 yesterday.

Summer Fun and the 4th of July

The truck at the parade. It is like this all year round but is especially neat around the fourth.

Carlos being silly. It was pouring rain on the fourth in the center of town. It didn't quite pour in Chubbuck but it did rain a bit. Quite windy though.

A bit blurry but a cute picture of the two.

The boys and Michaela have wanted to sleep out side all summer long. We finally said yes and now we can't get them to move back into the house. They sleep in a tent or the camper every night. Its become a ritual to see where and when they will go to bed. I guess that is what summer is for, Late nights, and crazy behavior.

A cool picture. If you look close you will see Carson getting out of his body. The camera has a delay mode and I just discovered this cool setting. Carson's out of body experience.

Carson and Carlos both with that delayed camera mode. It was dark and the camera was having a hard time focusing and finally focused but with delayed pictures.

Ready......... set........ Who will get wet first. Of course they will go as a team. and it is even funner with a double, triple slip and slide.

Carlos and Sean trying to set up a slip and slid my mom found when cleaning her basement. It was worn out but the sprinkler was a keeper. A fun hotdog bun sprinkler.

Michaela and Carlos getting wet. Carlos has the hose and is helping save someone?

Who will win this water fight and who will stay on the same team?

A great weter fight on one warm day. All the kids are ganging up to help drenched Jon.

Bear Lake Tournament

Michaela scoring and excited about it to. Michaela is one person who is hard to pitch to because she has such a small strike range. She doesn't like to walk so she tries hard to hit the ball. She has suceeded and has some strikeouts like all of us. How else can we learn if we don't fail at trying sometimes.

What boys do when they are tired of watching their sister play ssoftball. I guess its not fast enough or they are truely just being boys.

They were black and dirrrrrty. But they had fun and were ready to eat and sleep after a full day in the sun and heat.

Michaela playing second base. She works really hard to plese her coaches and will play whereever they need her to be, except pitcher.

The boys eating seeds and watching Michaela play.

Michaela can bat right handed and left handed. She is quite the lefty, although she doesn't bat left often.

Michaela's at bats are improving. She says she isn't nervous but yet she seems it to us. She is improving and getting those so important bats when needed Shes having fun. and when not needed.

In a team huddle before they all return to their positions and fight to win a game. Bear Lake was a little more competetive but the girls had a great time. THey won a few and lost a few. They are all ready to win a tournament all the way. Go Blackrock Curse!!
